Jeff Muir - Senior Manager

As a Senior Manager at the Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (AUASB), Jeff is responsible for the planning, research, development, and delivery of auditing and assurance standards and related guidance that support the AUASB’s strategy and corporate plan. His areas of focus include Australian Auditing Standards, Standards on Sustainability Assurance, and associated guidance and education initiatives relevant to both private sector (for-profit and not-for-profit) and public sector entities.

Before joining the AUASB Jeff held the position of Senior Analyst at the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) where he had operational involvement in the financial reporting surveillance and audit firm inspection programs. This included having responsibility for technical accounting and audit matters and issues, and engagement with external stakeholders.  Jeff was also responsible in leading enforcement actions and investigations related to audit and financial reporting, including auditor misconduct matters.

Earlier in his career, Jeff worked as a Senior Accountant at PricewaterhouseCoopers, managing audits primarily within the financial services sector.

Jeff is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
