AUASB Chair, Professor Roger Simnett welcomed the reappointment of two members of the Auditing and Assurance Standards Board, as announced by the Financial Reporting Council (FRC).
Re-appointments to the AUASB for 2021:
• Noel Harding, Associate Professor, School of Accounting, UNSW Business School, UNSW Sydney; and
• Julie Crisp, Auditor General for the Northern Territory.
These AUASB re-appointments are on a part-time basis commencing from 1 January 2021 for three years.
Professor Simnett said, ”I, along with all the AUASB Board members, am very pleased that both Julie Crisp and Noel Harding have been reappointed by the FRC for, and have accepted, a second three year term on the AUASB. Both are strong contributors to a strong Board. I very much value Julie’s expertise, guidance and wisdom in her position as the current Deputy Chair of the Board, and I look forward to working with her in this role and as a Board member, given the current challenges faced by and opportunities available to the auditing profession. Noel brings to the Board a clear focus on relevant evidence from academic research which contributes to the Board’s evidence-informed decision-making, and I look forward to working with Noel and his vision of developing international academic initiatives to better inform both the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board, and the various national auditing standards-setters."
