AUASB Board member and NZAuASB Chair, Robert Buchanan, appointed to the Public Interest Oversight Board

The AUASB extends its congratulations to our current AUASB Board member and NZAuASB Chair Robert Buchanan on his appointment to the Public Interest Oversight Board (PIOB)—the global, independent oversight body that seeks to improve the quality and public interest focus of the international audit and assurance, and ethics standards.

Mr. Buchanan has a background in public sector legal practice, public and not-for-profit sector governance roles, and nearly a decade of involvement in audit standard-setting. Additionally, he has experience as an independent adviser and reviewer with a focus on public sector governance, regulation, ethics, and accountability. He has also served on the New Zealand Auditing and Assurance Standards Board since 2011, and has been a Board member of the AUASB since 2016.
