Senior Project Manager - AUASB

The Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (AUASB) is a federal government entity established to develop, issue and maintain Australian auditing and assurance standards that meet user needs and enhance the credibility of information provided to users. AUASB contributes to stakeholder confidence in the Australian economy including its capital markets, and trust in auditing and assurance; and it contributes to the development of a single set of standards for world-wide use.

The AUASB is seeking a Senior Project Manager to work proactively under the direction of the Technical Director on assigned projects. Key responsibilities of the position will involve supporting the ongoing work program of the AUASB by undertaking technical work in the areas of auditing and assurance. Senior Project Managers are required to research and prepare briefing papers, publications and external presentations, as well as present externally and engage with stakeholders, on a range of technical auditing and assurance matters.

This position provides an excellent networking and relationship building opportunity with regulators, practitioners, professional bodies and industry groups on various matters relating to the work of the AUASB. No two days are the same! The role entails a mix of diverse and challenging projects, opportunities for travel and flexible working arrangements.

To be successful, you require sound technical knowledge with expertise in the application of auditing and assurance standards and guidance, ideally from work experience gained in a professional auditing practice environment. You will apply audit knowledge and experience to research and the standard-setting process to identify and analyse key issues for resolution. You are a team player with a high level of stakeholder engagement and project management skills, a good understanding of corporate governance principles and practices and have strong written communication and presentation skills.

You are tertiary qualified, a Chartered Accountant, CPA or equivalent with at least ten years of exposure to technical auditing work. A competitive remuneration package will appeal to the right candidate.
